Pickup Ultimate Frisbee – All Skill Levels Welcome
We’re a welcoming pickup Ultimate group with a wide mix of ages, genders, and experience levels. The goal is simple: have fun, play well, and make sure everyone feels comfortable coming out each week.
Quick note on how we play: Because we’re a very mixed group, we keep the game calm and safe. Please: -Avoid contact or aggressive play (no running through people, no foot blocks, etc.). -Throw to anyone who’s open (beginners, women, kids included). -Call your own fouls, travels, and violations. -If someone calls something on you, no arguing. You can contest if you disagree and we continue playing.
Who plays: -Ages 12+ only, please. -Very mixed group of ages, genders, and skill levels. -Majority of regulars are athletic men 40+, but all are welcome. -Beginners are encouraged — we’ll try to match you with someone of similar ability.
When & where: -Arrive around 10:00am to warm up. -Organizers will set the field and make teams. -Usually at Lincoln Park, but fields may change depending on availability.
What to bring: -One light shirt and one dark shirt -Cleats (if you have them) -Water
How we communicate: We organize everything through WhatsApp. Please reach out to Sujata by text (preferred) or email to join us.
Join us on Sunday mornings, from about 10:30 am to 1:00 pm! The starting time of evening games varies, as they're facilitated by lights during winter. Check FB for updates, but 6:30 is the most-common actual start time!
Who: all experience levels and ages welcome. High SOG a must!
BYO: water, sunscreen, sand socks, anything else! First one who shows with cones sets the field.
Location: Shore Line Dr. at Sunset Road in Alameda
A very casual game of ultimate, with ages ranging from 7 to 70+, but most in the 30ish-50ish range.
WINTER UPDATE: We tend to move around a little in the winter, with a rotation between Witter, Montclair, San Antonio, Bushrod and Mosswood. We have a WhatsApp for game day location decisions and polls, and idle Ultimate gossip.
Weekend Games Saturday and Sunday: Warm up starts 10:00-10:15, game is usually 10:20-10:30-11:30.
Wednesday at 6:00pm.
"We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing."
Here's a notsorecent write-up we had in the local paper: https://ginnyprior.com/2019/08/17/town-crier-ultimate-frisbee-proves-popular-in-parks-of-oakland-hills/
A few items that best give the flavor of our game, 1) Sidelines are more like guidelines, as long as you catch it, you can throw it back in. 2) We do let the younger kids play by kid rules, which means if they touch it but drop it, we count it as a catch where they touched it. Adults need to petition league commissioner for an exception to play by kid rules. 3) We kind of keep score, but some how we always end up in a tie after about an hour when someone gasps "Next 2 out of 3 wins”. 4) Our typical player: "It’s been years since I played regularly, and I wasn’t fast then." Seriously, you can usually match up pretty well with someone in your fitness/skill level. We have slow moving folks who just want to get outside and be active, and players who played competitively in college, however many years ago that was. 5) It's about the journey, not the destination.
We start with mini from 7:45 - 8:30pm on the back portion of the field then transition to full field 7v7 from 8:30 - 9:15pm. We then then do food and drinks across the street till 10pm.
Everyone who plays has played competitively in high school or college or club or 5+ years of pickup.
ALL advanced ultimate players are welcome!
Please try to rsvp your intentions and update if your status changes on the calendar event.
Beautiful grass field - lights on till 9:15pm
Shoot me an email with your ultimate experience to get added to calendar invite.
All Skills Welcome! tend to play 7 on 7 in Hillsborough or Burlingame. Great for an after work workout, fun practice before your competition or just learning.
Happy to help anyone new to the game or those playing after a long break. We are not really the game for cutthroat competitive play but offer a diverse skillset and welcoming community.
To get the weekly updates you can subscribe to the Google Groups by emailing genacles+subscribe@googlegroups.com

or join the group on Facebook. But not all messages will be posted on FB.
Spring 2026 Alternative game: Washington Park, will be charged a fee for reservation starting at 7pm.
Grass field (Athan Downs, Don Biddle), Turf field (Fallon Sports Park)
Welcome to our Pickup Ultimate profile! We started out coordinating games in Dublin, CA, but we're merging with the "Tri-Valley Ultimate" group, which covers Amador Valley, San Ramon Valley, and Livermore Valley.
Our group is co-end and has a good range of skill levels and we're open to beginners.
Our group tends to play at these locations:
Don Biddle Park, Dublin, CA (grass field)
Fallon Sports Park, Dublin, CA (turf field) (if it's too rainy for a grass field)
Athan Downs Park, San Ramon, CA (grass field)
Check the mailing list for game updates. We take a headcount and play if 8 or more people are able to play.
The Logistics: We play every Saturday at ~2:30 pm on the main grass field at Glen Park. People meet at the bottom of the tiered wall near the tennis courts. If nobody's there, just wait and folks will probably show up eventually (Frisbee time!). Please bring both a white shirt and a dark shirt so you can play on either team.
The Level: All skill levels are welcome! Most players are intermediate and we often have a good range of ages. Cleats are recommended, but some play in sneakers if that's all they have.
The Law: Spirit of the Game (enthusiastically enforced). Maximum 3 age-based jokes per point.
The Love: Free.
The Lore: Founded in the early '90s, the game has thrived with an ever-revolving cast of colorful characters. A few founding members still play — they're easily identified as the ones who yell the most and run the least. They claim the game was *originally* scheduled at 11am, and gradually crept back to its current time in an impressive show of unwillingness to be the first one there. Most (post)modern scholars believe the current time will never creep further back due to a shared, visceral, unspoken fear of sunset.
We play a lunch game on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday whenever we get numbers. If you are interested, please check the the GroupMe through the link or email me so that you can get updates. Everyone is welcome.

The Google Group for this game is called "Frisbee on the Oval" because we used to play (many years ago...) on the Stanford Oval.
Very laid back game. Wide range of experience, including very good players and beginners. Probably the most beginner-friendly game on the Peninsula. We keep score for the last 15 minutes. Bringing both light/dark shirt not required but it helps to keep teams balanced.
We play at the Stanford IM South Fields. We generally start playing within 25-30 minutes of start time. We are currently on summer hours (March-Oct, when daylight savings) starting at 4:00 pm to sunset. During winter months (Nov to March), game will be 2:30pm to sunset.
The game consistently happens every week, but if you want to be sure (and for updates on start time), sign up for the Google Group.
Game currently is active. We ask that if you are not vaccinated, to wear a mask.

Most players have played competitively in the past or are still playing competitively. Game usually gets going by 9:30am.
We usually warm up until 7:10 and play until 8 so that people can get to work. Beginner friendly and we play consistently rain or shine. Very friendly group and all skill levels welcome (but some people are very good which makes it fun to play). This group has been playing since 1999. Also, we have custom game frisbees available if you want one - just ask Barrus. Let me know if you want to be added to the email group.
This is a very consistent semi-competitive pick up Ultimate game that has been running since 1993. We play every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Cubberley Community Center Field barring really lousy weather. The game is well attended and almost always has 7 on 7 with subs. Occasionally we need to set up two fields to accommodate attendance.
The start time can fluctuate significantly depending on the time of year but generally ranges from 12:45-1:15 and is driven by player attendance. We generally start when we have a 4 on 4 minimum quorum.
Sign up to the mailing list if you want occasional field shift updates, timing or ultimate related discussions. A weekly headcount is not required so emails are on an as needed basis.
All players are reminded to respect the Official Rules of Ultimate. "Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play"
** Cubberley grass closes seasonally for maintenance in December/January and we typically move to Mitchell Park a couple streets away during this time unless it's been particularly wet in which case we play on Cubberley's turf field.
This pick up game that has been running since 1989. We have a wide range of ages and abilities. Beginner friendly, light-competitive play. We typically start around 12:30 depending on player count each with a 4 on 4 minimum. Bring a white and a color shirt to help balance numbers.
Join our mailing list to know where the game is at any given week and know if we have enough in attendance to play. We occasionally cancel the the game due to poor weather or player turnout.
All players are reminded to respect the Official Rules of Ultimate. "Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play"

‼️2026 Membership Drive‼️ We are running a promotion for 2026. Anyone who joins the game to play and continues to play for at least 3 months gets a $100 Nike pull-over!!!!!! Who is up for the challenge? ‼️‼️ Looking for a fun way to stay active? We're a group of middle-aged players who run a friendly, intermediate-level Ultimate Frisbee game in Mountain View. Whether you're a seasoned player or picked up a disc for the first time recently, you'll fit right in—many of our regulars started as complete beginners.
What Makes Us Different? We prioritize safety and having a great time over winning. Think of it as competitive enough to stay interesting, but relaxed enough that you'll actually look forward to Friday morning (well, maybe).
We have 7-8 regulars but need 10-14 for the best games.
Post-game, we hang out with coconut water and beer. You'll leave with both a workout and new friendships.
Interested? Drop a comment or DM me for details on our next game!

Want to start your day with a friendly, no-stress game of Ultimate in the Santa Cruz mountains? Come join us! We play with a huge range of ages and experience- we have grandpas who still dive after the disk, and we've made special rules for kids. We welcome both newcomers and experienced players.
We play Saturday and Sunday mornings when at least 6 people commit through the mailing list. We say we start at 9, but we're a pretty relaxed group and most of us don't show up until 9:15 or so.
We usually play at the Loma Prieta Elementary field on Summit Road, though when necessary we move to a smaller field across the street. Occasionally we will organize an evening game during the week. We'd love to have you join!
